Leader and Builder of Communities Wadih M. Fares was Inducted into the Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame
Halifax, NS, June 12, 2008 – The 15th annual Junior Achievement Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame gala took place June 12 at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax, celebrating its crystal anniversary while honouring four of Nova Scotia’s finest business leaders.
Wadih M. Fares, CEO of WM Fares Group, Bernardin Comeau, co-founder of Comeau’s Sea Foods Ltd., David Wilson and his brother, the late G. Peter Wilson, co-chairs of Wilson Fuel Company were inducted into the Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame.
“Our Laureates represent the diversity of opportunities found in Nova Scotia,” said Lynn Coveyduck, President and CEO of Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia. “From Mr. Comeau’s modernization of the traditional fishing enterprise to the innovations of the Wilsons’ fuel company under David and Peter, to the commitment to excellence Mr. Fares exemplifies in the development industry, these men all share a common goal of business excellence and a commitment to their communities.”
The gala, presented by Colour, is the flagship fundraiser for Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia, raising $225,000 this year - the most ever raised at the event. This year’s sold-out event was chaired by Wayne Crawley of Emera. The gala provides funding for programming to more than 17,000 students from grades six through 12.
